FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

The much anticipated Court Street Market is now open in downtown Florence. The new location renovated by local artists will serve as a hub for local vendors and artists to display their talents.

The Carriage on Court is the first vendor open inside the market. They have wine, cheese, and fresh flowers. Owner Carmen Erdmann said she hopes the market will help to enhance the beauty of the Shoals.

“We are a community full of culture, of history, and I think as a community we needed a place for everyone to be able to come and share stories, read a paper, buy local, farm to table and I think that was always the vision for the court street market,” said Erdmann.

Additional vendors will move in after the Art of Alabama Food Exhibit closes. Right now the exhibit is free and open to the public. It runs until Labor Day.
