Medical facility Muscle Shoals shooter visited issues statement

Good Morning!

Here's what we're working on in the WAFF newsroom:

A medical facility visited by a man involved in a standoff expressed their sympathies to the family involved.

Muscle Shoals Police say Reagan Jones shot his sister and then fired shots at police earlier this week.  His family says he went to Riverbend Center for Mental Health for help before the shooting, but he was given an appointment for September.

Jones died in the standoff.

The facility manager says he cannot speak specifically about this case, but Riverbend does have policies in place for emergency situations. You can read their full statement on our website.

Also, the next step for a new entertainment center is sketching and approving the site plans.

The Huntsville City Council signed off on the city's purchase of part of the old Stone Middle School building.  Part of the building will be turned into two 2 breweries.  Straight to Ale and Yellowhammer will operate them, and the City will operate a parking facility and open air amphitheater.

We'll have theses stories and more on WAFF 48 News today.

Have a wonderful day!
