Huntsville holds vigil for fallen man and embattled Missouri city

Good Thursday evening, everyone.

Tonight, Oakwood University students and administrators honored the memory of an unarmed Missouri man killed by police. Tonight's moment of silence was part of a national movement, as the Missouri Highway Patrol takes over and strips Ferguson police of their law-enforcement authority. Vincent Crivelli will have more from that vigil at 10.

The Huntsville City Council approved a resolution to pay retired city employees a one-time, lump sum payment. We'll have more on how that money will be distributed amongst the almost 1,000 retired city employees.

An Alabama congressman said Democrats are waging a "war on whites." Tonight, Margo Gray asks Mo Brooks to explain what he means. Hear what he has to say, as we examine if his controversial statement is helping or hurting his party.
