Hundreds of jobs coming to Madison

Hundreds of jobs coming to Madison

Good morning!

Here's what we're working on in the WAFF newsroom:

The Huntsville woman arrested in connection with the investigation involving a Guntersville soccer coach is expected in court today.

Kristan Griffin faces charges of human trafficking and conspiracy to commit sex abuse.  Investigators say she took two underage girls to David Barrow's home... And had the girls pose nude for photographs. Griffin is still in the Huntsville Madison County Metro Jail on 3-hundred-thousand dollar bond.

Also, a new commercial development is expected to bring hundreds of jobs to Madison County.

City and State leaders gathered at the development site Tuesday to officially announce the plans for "Town Madison".  The development will be on 700 acres between Wal Triana Highway and Zierdt Road.  We're told this venture will include 800,000 square feet of new retail space, 700,000 square feet of office space and 700 new hotel rooms.

The  project is expected to create 1,600 new jobs.

And finally, when you step outside this morning, you'll notice it doesn't quite feel like August.  Meteorologist Davis Ernst will let you know how long the cool temperatures will stick around.

Have a wonderful day!
