DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

Decatur police said they uncovered a large amount of high-grade marijuana, packed and ready for resale, during a search of a home Monday.

It happened on the 400 block of Sixth Avenue. While investigators executed a search warrant, one of the men at the location, Brandon Tyree Dearing, ran from the residence, only to be found a few blocks away inside a white minivan. Dearing was arrested along with the driver of the vehicle, Ramsey Terron Swopes.

Police said the search netted the pot, along with paraphernalia consistent with the sale of illegal narcotics. Dearing was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Dearing and Swopes were charged with resisting arrest.

A third man, Terrell Lanier Greene, was arrested on a loitering charge as well as possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
