Jewish Educational Alliance of Savannah calls for peace in Israel

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Savannah Jewish Federation and the Jewish Educational Alliance of Savannah is asking for peace between Israelis and Palestinians during a Community Rally in solidarity with Israel on Sunday, August 10th starting at 7:00 p.m.

A new 72 hour cease fire in the Gaza fighting has just begun but JEA claims the battle against terrorism isn't over and Israel needs their voices and support.

The Jewish Educational Alliance of Savannah believes Israel has a right to self defense and would like for Israelis and Palestinians to live free of Hamas's terror.

A special guest will be speaking at the event, Charleston native, Matt Baer, who was a Computer Science major at the College of Charleston in 2011 when he chose to take a break from his education to join the Israeli Defense Forces as a Lone Soldier.

Baer will speak about his experiences as a Lone Soldier and the event will include remarks by leaders of the Jewish Community.

Prayers will be offered for peace from all Savannah Congregational Rabbis.
