Decatur police make drug arrest

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - Decatur police made a drug arrest on Saturday.

At about 7:30 p.m., Officers and members of the Decatur Police Department's Anti-Crime Unit were patrolling in the area of 11th Avenue Northwest. 

Officers saw someone walking in the street. Officers saw that the person appeared to be intoxicated. Officers made contact with the him and identified him as Carlos Dion McCaskey.

During the investigation, McCaskey was found to be under the influence of marijuana. Officers also located crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia on McCaskey.

McCaskey was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication. McCaskey was taken to the Decatur City Jail where he was processed in without incident.

McCaskey will later be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $3,5000 bond.

    The Guntersville Police Department have released news details on a double shooting late Friday afternoon that left one man dead.

    The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., when police from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call reporting two people had been shot on Edmonds Road.
