It's one of the largest music festivals in the nation and it's all happening right here in Central Virginia. The smooth sounds of jazz brought the park to life for the Fifth Annual Richmond Jazz Festival at Maymont.

"First of all I'm a jazz lover. I love music period but I love jazz. It's just wonderful being able to be outside and enjoy the weather and just enjoy music and just watch people enjoy themselves," said Lynn Rivers who traveled from Northern Virginia.

That's just what they did as the group Jazz Attack wowed the crowd.

It's just one of many acts that performed on three separate stages. Crowd goers showed up excited to catch their favorite groups under the spotlight.

"I've been rehearsing dancing to his music for the last month. Who is that? Boz Scaggs? Have you ever seen him live? Never but I love his music," said Diane Glanz.

"I'm looking forward to seeing Eric Benet. I love his work. I love his music so," said Jasmine Crenshaw.

Then came the headliner.

"I really want to see Babyface," Lynn Rivers said.

The Grammy-award winning crooner led the audience in a live soundtrack of his greatest hits. For the Cool in You, Every Time I close My eyes, and a host of songs he wrote for other artists. The hits found the crowd instantly singing along.

People are in a good mood. Lots of families here. Glad you came? Yes. Absolutely," Glanz added.

The fun continues Sunday with more big names, including Boz Scaggs, Cameo, and Gospel duo - Mary Mary.
