ATHENS, AL (WAFF) -

Athens police arrested a man accused of breaking into his father's home.

It happened Sunday morning on the 3900 block of Ingleside Drive. The victim told investigators he came home and found clothing on the couch, which led him to believe someone was in the home.

He told officers he went to the back bedroom and found the offender, his son, climbing out the window. The victim told officers his son did not have permission to be at the residence.

Officers arrested Connor Robert Gilliland for third-degree burglary.

Among the items listed missing from the residence were a shirt, two house keys, an amount of food, and $3 cash.

Gilliland was booked and transferred to the county jail.
