Restaurant week to feature eateries in 53 cities

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - State Department of Tourism officials say this year's Alabama Restaurant Week event will feature more than 200 restaurants in 53 cities offering lunch and dinner discounts.

State tourism department marketing director Grey Brenan said in a statement that Alabama Restaurant Week begins Aug. 15 and lunch specials will range from $5 to $15. Dinner specials will range from $10 to $30 and prices don't include taxes, tip and drinks.

Brennan says the event offers people a chance to try restaurants throughout the state while saving money - and without having to clip coupons or bring discount books along.

Brennan says diners participating in the event should simply ask for the Alabama Restaurant Week special when they're ordering.

A list of participating restaurants is posted online.
