Arrest made in shooting death of homeless man

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A man has been arrested and charged with the murder of a homeless man that happened July 14, 2014 on Florida Street in Baton Rouge.

Police say Marlon Romaine Carter, 41 of Zachary, LA was arrested at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on July 30 around 6 p.m. where he was being held on an unrelated charge.

Charles Vincent, 59, and Carter are suspected of getting into some type of dispute just before the shooting. Vincent was taken to the hospital after the shooting and later died. The shooting happened on Florida Street between North 13th and North 14th Street.

Carter is charged with second degree murder, illegal use of a weapon and felon in possession of a firearm.
