ATHENS, AL (WAFF) - The United Way of Athens Limestone County is asking for help to "stuff the bus."

The group is encouraging the community to donate new or gently used books for students, kindergarten through 12th grade.

Executive Director Kaye McFarlen said this is a great opportunity and an easy way to support students.

"Last year this community supported the school system, giving 4,700 books. So that's extraordinary and we hope that we'll be able to top that this year," she said.

Stuff the bus runs through Sept. 12. Supplies can be dropped off at the following locations:

  • Athens State University Library
  • Belle Chevre
  • First Baptist Church in Athens
  • First Baptist Church tanner
  • FirstPresbyteriann Church in Athens

  • Isom's Chapel United Methodist Church
  • Joe's Pharmacy in East Limestone
