A Reserve couple has been found guilty in the death of the woman's eight-year-old son.

Errol Victor has been found guilty of second-degree murder. His wife, Tonya, was found guilty of manslaughter.

The child, Tonya's son and Errol's stepson was pronounced dead at River parishes hospital in 2008. Doctors say the child's body was covered in bruises. They also testified his body temperature was 86-degrees when he arrived at the hospital, an indication he could have been dead for hours.

The Victors represented themselves. They claimed the boy died from a severe respiratory attack and showed in court medical records that say M.L. was diagnosed with asthma as an infant.

The Victors are a blended family of 15 who lived in Reserve. Some of the couples children testified on their behalf, others acted as witnesses for the prosecution.
