SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Attorneys defending firefighters embroiled in a sex and abuse scandal at Shreveport's Station 8 are once again asking a Caddo district court judge to throw out more evidence.

This time, it's testimony from a clinical psychologist who examined the alleged victims. Dr. Bruce McCormick testified that both men have IQs of about 50. The normal range, McCormick says, is 85 to 115. As a result, he has designated both men as intellectually disabled.

Attorneys for the firefighters have questioned the psychologist about his testing procedures and don't want his findings introduced at trial.

Attorney for Jason Vaughan, Stephen Glassell said they don't have a hang- up about his testimony but they want to make sure that the testing was carried out properly.

The firefighters, Clint Richardson, Billy Glass, Jason Vaughn and Derrick Harris are accused of hazing mentally challenged men who frequented the station and hiring a prostitute to have sex with one of them.

They are charged with cruelty to the infirm and principal to prostitution. The former fire captain, Randy Chandler is accused of cruelty only.

The next court date was previously set for July 30, and a trial date has been set for August 8.

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
