Here's what we're working on in the WAFF newsroom:
The U.S. House is expected to vote today on a $17 billion bill designed to improve veterans healthcare. With a new VA secretary in place, plus an August recess coming up in just a few days, Congress is trying to accomplish as much as they can before they leave for break.
House and Senate leaders compromised and came up with a plan to fix the department. The measure is intended to help veterans avoid long waits for health care, hire more doctors and nurses to treat them, and make it easier to fire senior executives at the Veterans Affairs Department.
WAFF's Muriel Bailey will have much more on this story all morning long. http://bit.ly/WMStb1
Also, Huntsville International Airport no longer tops the list as the most expensive airport in the Country, but there's a catch.
The reason why Huntsville International didn't make the top spot isn't because tickets are cheaper.
WAFF's Lauren Morrison breaks down the numbers this morning.
Stop in and join us before heading out for the day.
