GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Guntersville police and fire crews rescued a barefoot woman from a ledge at LB Wallace Park Tuesday night.

It happened around 7:40 p.m. at an area known as "The Overlook."

Police said a woman was standing on a ledge and was unable to get back down. Officers on the scene called out the fire department, who had to use a ladder truck to rescue the woman.

Officials said the woman was wearing a dress, but had no shoes. She was not charged with any crime. It is unclear how or why she wound up on the ledge.
