MOULTON, AL (WAFF) -

Police are trying to solve a pharmacy break-in in Moulton. The thief stole thousands of pills.

It happened early Monday morning at the Logan Pharmacy on Court Street. Investigators have released surveillance video, hoping you can help them catch the person who did it.

Logan Pharmacy has a history of break-ins. In the chaos after the April 27, 2011 tornado outbreak, a couple of thieves stole from the pharmacy. Moulton Police caught those crooks, and they want to nail this one too.

In the surveillance video, you can see the thief's car drive up to the business. Then, from inside, you can see the brick they used to break the glass slide by on the ground.

Once inside, the burglar swiped 4,000 Xanax pills, and took two bottles of codeine syrup. They are wearing a bandana on their face, and possibly a mask. But investigators think someone who knows the suspect may recognize them. And police say when those drugs start hitting the street, it may lead them to the crook.

"Either somebody recognizes the movements of the person, or more likely, just that large of quantity," said Moulton Police Captain Damon Morgan. "[Somebody] would be more likely to report that somebody has a lot of Xanax that's selling it so we can start to look into them, and possibly see if it may have come from Logan Pharmacy."

If you have information regarding this burglary, you are asked to call the Moulton Police Department.

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
