DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

The attorney for a man charged in the killing of two Decatur Krystal restaurant employees wants his client's trial delayed.

Ezekiel Gholston's lawyer filed a motion to have the trial continued. He is asking for more time to prepare for the trial, which is currently scheduled for October 15.

Prosecutors said Gholston helped Jordaan Creque rob the restaurant and kill the employees. Creque was sentenced to death earlier this year; his motion for a new trial was denied in June.

Gholston faces a capital murder charge. A third suspect, Cassandra Eldred, is also charged with capital murder. Her trial date has not been set.
