Police find burglary suspect in victim's garage

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

Decatur police said they found a burglary suspect in a homeowner's garage with property in his hand.

It happened at a home on Johnson Street early Sunday morning. Police said an officer was responding to an alarm and found a man standing in the garage holding an item of property in his hand.

The homeowner said he did not know the man found in his garage. Police arrested William Oneal Glenn and charged with burglary. Investigators said Glenn was found in possession of a hammer, a screwdriver, a lock shim, a flashlight and gloves.

Glenn was also charged with possession of burglar's tools. Police said at the time of his arrest, he was out on bond for two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Investigators are working to have his bond revoked.

Police said further charges against Glenn are pending.
