The Huntsville Stars erased a 4-1 deficit late in the game Sunday and scored a combined seven runs in the seventh and eighth innings to comeback and defeat the Chattanooga Lookouts 8-4 at Joe Davis Stadium.
With the win, the Stars ended their season long five game losing streak.
Chattanooga starter Nick Struck who dominated the Stars over the first six innings left with a 4-1 lead. Struck gave up just four hits on one run in his six frames. Struck wound up with a no-decision.
The Lookouts brought in lefty reliever Mike Thomas to face Yadiel Rivera to begin the seventh. Rivera, who had a huge day going 4-4 with two doubles, doubled against Thomas to begin the inning. After Kentrail Davis walked, pinch hitter Robinson Diaz recorded an rbi single scoring Rivera making it 4-2.
The Stars were not finished in the seventh. With runners at second and third base with one out, Josh Fellhauer chipped in with a sacrifice fly scoring Davis cutting the Lookouts lead to 4-3.
Nick Ramirez then tied the game on an rbi double down the right field line scoring Diaz.
Blake Smith(0-4) then came in from the Lookouts bullpen to get the final out of the inning.
David Goforth(4-3) who earned the win out of the Stars bullpen pitched a 1-2-3 eighth.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Stars separated themselves from the Lookouts against Smith.
With one out, Adam Weisenburger singled. Rivera doubled putting runners at second and third with one out. The Lookouts then brought Daniel Coulombe into the game.
