NORTH ALABAMA (WAFF) -

A line of showers and thunderstorms will move into North Alabama in the overnight hours Monday.

They will track southeast at about 45 mph and be capable of very heavy rain, strong gusty winds up to 50 mph and frequent lightning. This will be a quick round of rain and storms. The storms will likely be over in all areas by daybreak Monday.

Ahead of the front, the winds will remain gusty from the southwest at 10-20 mph. Behind the front a gusty north wind will usher in another cool air mass. Cool for this time of year anyway. Monday will be dry with a north wind at 7-12 mph and afternoon highs in the lower to middle 80s.

Temperatures will fall to around 60 degrees during the early morning hours on Tuesday and Wednesday with afternoon highs, both days, in the lower 80s.Our next chance of rain arrives Friday into Saturday.
