Murder suspect wants school records released

MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The man at the center of a capital murder case is demanding the release of his records from Huntsville City and Madison County Schools.

John Clayton Owens is charged in the 2011 death of 91-year-old Doris Richardson. Richardson was found dead inside her Bide-a-Wee Drive home.

Owens' attorney is requesting school records from three schools. They want his test scores, report cards, disciplinary records, counseling records, psychological tests, and special education records.

Owens' trial is set for November 3.
