Vandals targeted more than a dozen cars and several homes in Muscle Shoals.

Police said it happened sometime early Wednesday morning at homes located behind the high school and police department.

From hubcaps to mailboxes, vandals left their mark on property throughout the city.

Jamie Creasy said he was getting ready for work when he found graffiti on his white 3000GT.

"We're going to get it to a body shop," Creasy said. "I know I'm going to have to get new headlights for sure, and hopefully that's as far as I have to go as far as parts."

The vandals left behind obscenities with red and green spray paint. Police believe the attacks were random and caused several thousands of dollars worth of damage.

"It was in a pretty wide area of the city where they were out doing it," said Cedric Morris with the Muscle Shoals Police Department. "It wasn't just one particular subdivision being targeted, it was a quite good area of the city."

About a mile away from Creasy, Dustin Coan said he made it to work before noticing someone had tampered with his truck.

"We all got to talking, and one guy said it was on there when I pulled up, he was wondering why I had a swastika on the side of my truck," said Coan. "I didn't realize it was there, so I covered it up."

Police are asking residents to check their at-home surveillance cameras to see if they picked up on anything suspicious.
