Restaurant Ratings Report: Unlucky 13 for two

(Toledo News Now) -

It was unlucky number 13 this week for two Toledo area restaurants.

The first was Golden City Restaurant at 5051 North Summit Street, which came in with 13 violations including raw chicken stored above raw shrimp in the cooler, no label on cooked chicken thawing and a sink full of dirty water.

PF Changs at Village Drive in Maumee also had 13 violations.  Among them were a broken faucet spraying water up under the bar, raw pork stored over cooked pork and a knife by the sushi being stored in water.

Staying in Maumee, Jed's at 1566 Reynolds landed 12 violations, including a hand washing sink at the bar being used for dumping, bare hand contact with ready to eat foods and general cleaning needed on all equipment.

A popular Mexican restaurant with double digit violations was Loma Linda on Airport Highway in Swanton.  They received 10 violations including build up on the ice machine, a handsink by a dish machine missing hand soap and wet wiping cloths on the bar which can contain bacteria.

Some good news: Subway at 5447 Secor Road in Toledo posted a perfect score with no violations.

David: Showers and storms ongoing across the Valley

    Saturday, March 25 2017 5:50 PM EDT2017-03-25 21:50:37 GMT

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
