HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A new partnership between a childhood education center and a North Alabama college will benefit students of all ages.

Rise School of Huntsville will become part of the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Rise will become a formal organization under the direction of UAH's Department of Education.

Officials with Rise say the school provides the highest quality of early childhood education services to eligible children with diverse abilities.

Both organizations said they are excited about the partnership.

"This is a program that in addition to regular educational needs, [provides] physical therapy, speech therapy and music therapy," said Rise President Jill Gardner. "We've seen children that were not very verbal become very verbal and make progress with physical skills, so that they are more on an equal basis with their peers."

Rise School of Huntsville operates year-round. Officials said the school will continue alliances with local school systems.
