MUSCLE SHOALS, AL (WAFF) -

The attorney for a former church secretary accused of stealing more than $100,000 from her parish released a statement Monday.

Last week, a Colbert County grand jury indicted Deborah Mansell for theft of property and 20 counts of fraudulent use of a credit card.

Mansell's attorney, Tim Case, said there are many people who are standing by her side. In a statement released Monday, he said:

"Ms. Mansell and I are looking forward to our days in court and a resolution to this matter. It is our intention to protect Ms. Mansell's rights and also to make sure that justice is done. Ms. Mansell is a good loving parent and has many friends and loved ones. They are all in support of Ms. Mansell."

Mansell is the former secretary at Highland Park Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals. Investigators said Mansell charged more than $129,000 on a church credit card between 2011 and 2014.

Her arraignment has been set for September 11 in Colbert County.
