HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville police are looking into an overnight burglary at a construction site that has cost contractors hundreds of dollars worth of tools.

It happened on the 3500 block of Memorial Parkway, at the site of a jewelry store nearing completion.

Ronnie Mayes with Fite Building Company said someone smashed in the front door and ran off with some of his personal tools.

"It hurts personally, that's for sure, financially," said Mayes. "Karma can be rough... I'm not supposed to wish anything bad on anybody, but i'm sure there was not good intent involved in stealing tools."

Mayes said all he can do is "dust off and go forward." He said he offered prayers to the person or people responsible that felt like they needed the tools.

If you have any information about the theft, you are asked to call Huntsville police.
