HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Boeing employees joined together Saturday to help others.

Around 25 volunteers painted, cleaned and gardened in the Lincoln Village neighborhood in Huntsville. The event was part of Boeing's Global Month of Service, which is designed to get employees volunteering in their communities during the month of July.

“We get an opportunity to do some things in areas where we feel there is a need, and we can offer that given budgets that are diminishing,” said Boeing employee Dexter Henson. “We decided to do that here at Lincoln Village. During the weekends, a number of our employees are out giving to our communities in which we all live to make things better.”

In 2013, Boeing volunteers participated in more than 150 events in 15 countries across the globe.
