BIRMINGHAM, AL (WSFA) -

WSFA 12 News was honored with multiple Alabama Associated Press Media Editors awards at the organization's annual banquet and award ceremony in Birmingham Saturday.

WSFA 12 News competed against Alabama stations from the Huntsville, Montgomery and Dothan markets.

WSFA won the following awards:

  • Best Hard News Feature Story -- WSFA-TV, Max Reiss, Doug Gooden, STAFF, "Secrets in Sylacauga WSFA"
  • Best Soft News Feature Story -- WSFA-TV, Bryan Henry, STAFF, "Ladybug Quilters"
  • Best Investigative Reporting -- WSFA-TV, Mark Bullock, STAFF, "Old Tires"

    Three adult males and one juvenile were arrested in Limestone County on Thursday after a four-hour manhunt and charged with multiple counts stemming from a string of vehicle thefts.Three adult males and one juvenile were arrested in Limestone County on Thursday after a four-hour manhunt and charged with multiple counts stemming from a string of vehicle thefts.

    A ground search ensued that lasted about four hours and covered approximately six miles, ending a few hundred yards east of Hays Mill Road where the suspects were caught in a hunting stand/shoot house.
