TSA agents stop man with knife in shoe

Good Friday evening and TGIF!

We're continuing to dig deeper into a possible local connection to an airline passenger who was stopped by TSA agents at the airport in Detroit July 6th. The 38-year-old man who had a knife hidden in his shoe told authorities that he had done the same thing July 3rd at Huntsville International. In that incident, he says the knife went undetected. WAFF-48's Vincent Crivelli will have more reaction from local officials on if this actually happened at Huntsville, and if so, how it could have happened.

We're also continuing to investigate the deadly plane crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 killing all 298 people on board. Tonight, a veteran crash investigator says it's an outrage the crash scene in eastern Ukraine isn't being treated as it normally would because the debris of the jet went down in a warzone, hit by a surface-to-air missile. We'll have the latest.

And Sunday marks the 45th anniversary of the historic Apollo 11 mission to the moon. The U.S. Space and Rocket Center kicked off a weekend of special events to commemorate the anniversary this evening. WAFF-48's Charles Molineaux will have more on tonight's festivities and the Rocket City's crucial role in getting us there.

We hope you'll join us at 10.
