Alabama unemployment unchanged at 6.8 percent

MONTGOMERY, AL (WAFF) - Alabama's June unemployment rate holds steady at 6.8 percent. 

Governor Robert Bentley announced on Friday that Alabama's preliminary, seasonally adjusted June unemployment rate is the same as May's rate and above June 2013's rate of 6.5 percent. 

June's rate represents 144,991 unemployed people, compared to 146,976 in May and 138,344 in June 2013.
