A former dairy farmer in the Shoals tapped into a unique water source, and he wants to share it with the rest of Alabama.

When Eric Cornelius wanted to dig a well for his dairy farm 6 years ago, he expected to find... well, water.

"I expected to find some kind, I just wasn't expecting to find this kind of an aquifer right here," Cornelius said.

He found water, alright - inside an Artesian aquifer. The source allows his well to produce more than 500 gallons of uncontaminated water a minute.

"There's too many things that can contaminate your water and with this being in a sealed aquifer underground - it's been under ground for thousands of years - there's nothing in this. We don't add anything to it, we don't take anything away from it. It's tested regularly; it's just a good, clean, safe water and it's got a great taste," Cornelius said.

As folklore tells the story of the Singing River in the Shoals, Cornelius pays homage through his product, which he calls Singing River Artesian Water.

It's Made in Alabama by all-American products.

"It comes from our Artesian well, it's piped about 200 feet into the processing room where it is filtered and bottled and packaged and ready to sell," he explained.

From his farm in Rogersville, to the doors at FAME Studios, Cornelius is ready to share his water with the world.

"It's just lucky; it was just by accident we found this, and again it's a blessing," Cornelius said. "We have the bottling plant here and I'm able to bottle and share it with everyone else; that's what I want to do."
