Police: Bibb Co. man ran over wife with Bobcat loader

BIBB COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

A Bibb County man is charged with attempted murder and domestic violence after police say he tried to run over his wife with a Bobcat loader.

Woodstock police say Van Gray, 67, of Greenpond rammed his wife with the loader, shoving her up against the steel bed of a landscaping truck.

Police say Gray tried to run his wife over again but she crawled under a truck and escaped. According to police, Gray caught up with her and hit her in the head with a hammer.

The woman managed to call for help and was taken to UAB Hospital.

Gray is being held on a $120,000 bond.
