HOLLY SPRINGS, MS -

(WMC) - A man died at the doors of a home-based Elvis Presley museum in Holly Springs, Miss. An attorney says the owner was defending himself against a burglary that turned deadly.

Police continue their investigation into the shooting death of 28-year-old Dwight Taylor on Wednesday night after he died inside the door of Graceland Too.

An attorney says owner Paul McLeod heard a loud banging at his door Tuesday around 11 p.m. When Macleod opened the door, Taylor reportedly broke a window and demanded money; he refused to leave, according to a news release from Knecht Law Firm.

"The 'victim,' Dwight Taylor, forced his way into the home, broke the front window, and threatened Mr. McLeod," wrote attorney Phillip K. Knecht in a statement. "Mr. McLeod was forced to defend himself."

McLeod and his attorney are working with law enforcement.

The popular two-story home decorated to the ceiling, literally, with all things the kinglike Elvis' report card from 1951 or rare gold cardboard recordswill not be open to visitors until further notice. Often referred to as an Elvis shrine, Graceland Too appealed to an audience from around the world, and it stayed open late.

An Alabama newspaper wrote that verifying the worth of all the memorabilia would take years, but McLeod claimed it would be in the millions of dollars.

UPDATE: McLeod was found dead Thursday morning on his porch. Follow the link to learn more: http://bit.ly/1zNv1sW.
