Kitchen Cops: 2 low performers from a fast food chain

MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - The Waffle House on Bailey Creek Circle in Huntsville scored an 82 with the Madison County Health Department. The health inspector reported bare hand contact was made with ready-to-eat food.

Waffle House also lost points because cold food was above the maximum temperature required to keep bacteria from growing.

The Subway inside of the Walmart in Arab scored a 77. The health inspector said there were too many flies. They also reported cold-holding chicken was 11 degrees above temperature, cold turkey was six degrees too warm, and that employee drink cups were on a food prep table.

An 80 for the Hardee's in Arab. The inspector cited them for cheese held 15 to 23 degrees too warm. The inspector also reports finding an excessive grease spill on the ground.

The Hardee's in Florence scored an 84 with the Lauderdale County Health Department. The inspector reported hot food wasn't being held hot enough, and they took off points because the fountain drink nozzles weren't clean.

Big Al's Grocery in Trinity is now off of the Morgan County Health Department reinspection schedule after scoring a 94 during their reinspection, ten points better than last time.

The Quik Mart in East 2nd Street in Sheffield rose from an 83 to a 98 upon reinspection.

The staff at the Sprint Mart on Highway 72 in Tuscumbia improved by nine points, scoring a 93 during their reinspection.
