With the ever-growing demand for productivity across all industries in a challenging economy, avoiding outages and maximizing uptime have never been more vital to business decision-makers and maintenance managers.

With the ever-growing demand for productivity across all industries in a challenging economy, avoiding outages and maximizing uptime has never been more vital to business decision-makers and maintenance managers. To enhance reliability and profitability, KCF Technologies put a decade of research into creating SmartDiagnostics® a complete predictive monitoring system consisting of an inexpensive family of compact wireless sensors, data-gathering receivers, and easy-to-use condition-monitoring software that can be up and running in minutes, straight out of the box.

The powerful software and wireless vibration sensors can be configured to fit virtually any industrial plant or facility. This flexibility enables technicians to accurately visualize the precise operating state of their equipment, allowing them to predict the best time to perform critical maintenance. Rugged and reliable, the SmartDiagnostics® system is readily adaptable to maintenance needs across a remarkably wide range of industries, including those with harsh environments and challenging machinery.

So, whats different about KCF Technologies second generation of SmartDiagnostics®? Everything, from the ground up, says KCF Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Marketing David Shannon. The sensors are more robust, transmit over a longer range, and require even less power so they can use an inexpensive, off-the-shelf battery that rarely needs changed. Additionally, the sensors capture much higher frequency vibration which enables greater diagnostic capabilities and that is just one component of the system.

The upgraded wireless receivers can connect to many more sensors than their predecessors over 100 sensors can communicate with one sensor-agnostic receiver, making the system massively scalable. Shannon adds, Both receivers and sensors are easier than ever to set up, operate, and deploy. He says that the network as a whole is more resilient, with a greater ability to respond to changes in the environment.

SmartDiagnostics® Machine Condition Monitoring software is accessible from any system with a browser, with dashboards for easy access and enhanced ability to display the state of machinery graphically. The updated software enables users to quickly scan through the status of many machines to identify potential issues that need to be examined in more detail. Users can set thresholds that trigger warnings and alarms to notify technicians when theres an issue. Just like the hardware, the software infrastructure is easily scalablethe software can operate on a small single-user computer or a large multi-user, multi-site enterprise system. Each user can access the account via a personal profile, with permissions that allow users to see only whats applicable to them. Those customers who do not wish to install and manage the software themselves can use KCFs SmartDiagnostics® subscription-based cloud service.

KCF Technologies is also announcing its new SmartDiagnostics Sentry Service. Sentry Service is a comprehensive predictive monitoring service in which KCF vibration experts guide customers through the installation, setup and configuration of the system, provide detailed analysis in the beginning months of operation, and then continue monitoring throughout the term of the agreement. If theres an issue, the KCF team will notify the appropriate person right away.
