The Alabama National Guard is set to welcome home soldiers of the 1103rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, based out of Eufaula.

The welcome home ceremony will take place July 16 at 8 a.m. at the Malcolm McNab Reeves Recreation Complex (Eufaula Community Center). That's on Community Drive in Eufaula.

Deployed as part of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan since September of 2013, more than 60 Alabama Army National Guard Soldiers of the 1103rd are preparing to rejoin their families.

The 1103rd CSSB was a central mission command headquarters conducting and enabling the United States Central Command Materiel Retrograde Element (CMRE) mission in Afghanistan.

It worked as an enabler for base closure, mobile container assistance, and materiel redistribution.

National Guard leadership will participate in the homecoming.
