A colorful, entertaining speaker, author, music industry entrepreneur and legendary post-punk drummer, best known for his work with Public Image Ltd., Ministry, Nine Inch Nails and more, Martin Atkins will present his candid, one-of-a-kind talk on how to build a career in the music industry, July 23 at Ballards Tractor Tavern. A featured speaker at SXSW and music conferences around the world, this rare Seattle appearance is hosted by the Brown Paper Tickets Doer Program as part of the Not-Just-For-Profit ticketing companys mission to help independent musicians succeed. Admission includes the lecture, a free digital download of Atkins book, Welcome to the Music Business: Youre F**ked!, and live performances from three of Seattle's top independent bands, The Bad Things, Gigantor (featuring Lynval Golding of UK ska legends The Specials) and Spiderface.
