HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Fire crews were called to a Huntsville apartment complex late Monday night.

The fire started in a maintenance building at Quail Pointe Apartments on Henderson Road just before 10:30 p.m.

Witnesses reported hearing a boom, then seeing smoke and flames coming from the laundry room area of the building. Firefighters say that boom was likely some flammable equipment stored inside the building.

"Well ,while I'm on the phone with 911 calling the fire department, the fire just grows, just like fast. I'm on the phone with her and i'm like this is moving fast like the trees are starting to catch on fire. You can start to see little tree limbs in the sky, flying around and then the whole thing proceeded to catch on fire," said Chiemenam Azubogu, who lives in a nearby building.

No one was hurt, and no buildings where people actually live were damaged.

There's no word on the cause of the fire, but a witness did tell fire investigators that some kids were playing with fire works earlier in the day.
