RUTLEDGE, Tenn. (AP) - A former Grainger County sheriff and current mayoral candidate has been charged with drunk driving after police say he ran into at least one tombstone while leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase.

Troopers say the pursuit ended when McElhaney turned into parking lot behind Rutledge United Methodist, drove through the middle of the cemetery, and smashed into at least one tombstone.
