HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

There are three statewide contests to be decided in Tuesday's runoff election.

John Merrill and Reese McKinney are vying for the Republican nomination for Secretary of State. The winner of this race will face Democratic contender Lula Albert-Kaigler in November.

Dale Peterson and Jim Zeigler seek the Republican nomination for State Auditor. Whoever prevails in this race will go up against Democrat Miranda Joseph in November.

Chris Beeker Jr. and Terry Dunn are fighting for the Republican nomination for Public Service Commission, Place 2. This race will confirm a winner, as no Democratic contenders sought the position.

Citizens will also be asked to vote on one Constitutional amendment. Senate Bill 256 would allow authorized commissions of cotton producers to support a program for the promotion of cotton production, marketing, use and sale, and would delete a previous requirement that assessments on producers would be subject to refund.
