HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

What do the movies ‘Sudden Impact,’ ‘Cahill,’ ‘Demolition Man’ and ‘Rumble in the Bronx’ have in common?

Besides starring some of the toughest men in Hollywood, they will all be found on Huntsville broadcast television - when WAFF-TV adds a second digital subchannel in Fall 2014.

‘Grit,’ a new action and adventure-based network, will occupy WAFF 48.3 in the fourth quarter of the year. Grit will join Bounce TV, which occupies 48.2, as additional entertainment options from WAFF.

The new channel will have a heavy focus on western, war and action theatrical motion pictures.

Grit’s owners, Katz Broadcasting, entered into a licensing agreement with Warner Brothers Domestic Television Distribution earlier this year to offer many of the production house’s films for broadcast. Soon, you will be able to watch stars like Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Sylvester Stallone, Jackie Chan and more – free, over-the-air, on 48.3.

An official launch date for 48.3 has not been announced. Station engineers are currently working on expanding and installing equipment needed to prepare for Grit’s launch this fall. Keep looking for updates on the new 48.3 on-air and here at WAFF.com!
