HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Tuesday's runoff election is going to cost Alabama taxpayers $3-million. That's almost a dollar per voter.

However, election officials don't expect many to show up at the polls. The secretary of state, Jim Bennett, said the turnout is always low when neither party has a runoff for governor or U.S. Senate.

He also said to hold a statewide election costs about $3-million no matter what the turnout.
