MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

Madison City Schools Board of Education members gave high marks to Superintendent Dr. Dee Fowler on Thursday, saying his performance over the past year was, once again, above the bar.

The board judged Dr. Fowler on 10 key areas, and said that once again, he exceeded expectations. From his role as the board's Chief Executive Officer, to community relations, Fowler scored an average of 4.74 on a five-point scale, which is considered 'excellent.'

"We want this year to be his best year ever," said board member Ray White. "So our challenge to him is, Dr. Fowler, we think you're the best superintendent in the state, but we want next year to be better."

The high praise does come with a dollar figure attached - in the way of a $10,000 incentive bonus.
