SOMERVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Investigators with the Alabama Bureau of Investigation say a Somerville man posed as a female to collect pictures of underage males.
The Alabama Bureau of Investigation's Cyber Crimes Unit, along with the Somerville Police Department, arrested Justin Clay McNeil on Tuesday. He was charged with multiple counts of possession of child pornography.
Investigators say McNeil used an online persona of a girl named "April Morgan" to contact hundreds of underage males through social media websites. They say about 17 of them are from Alabama.
Once McNeil gained their trust, he would solicit the underage males to provide him with explicit photos and videos of themselves. According to investigators, McNeil would then distribute the photos online. He used a photo of a young girl as his fake persona. Investigators hope to identify the girl in the picture as well as victims.
McNeil is being held in the Morgan County Jail pending more charges related to child pornography.
