Nashville man sentenced to 70 years in prison

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Nashville man has been sentenced to 70 years in prison for several domestic violence-related crimes.

Judge Mark Fishburn on Wednesday sentenced Mark Dobson, who also goes by the name Mark Martin, to the prison sentence. A jury in March found him guilty of five counts of especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary and employing a weapon during commission of a dangerous felony.

Dobson was arrested after a entering the home of his estranged girlfriend in July 2011 and holding her and her four children at gunpoint through a night and during a forced car ride the next day.

Dobson fled the scene after the woman called police, but he found her the next day and beat her before law enforcement was called again. He was later found and arrested.
