NINETY SIX, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers with the SC Highway Patrol said a toddler has died from injuries after being struck by a SUV inside a state park.

Troopers said the crash happened inside the Lake Greenwood State Recreation Area near campground one just before 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Coroner Sonny Cox said 18-month-old Regan Griffin died in the crash.

The driver of an SUV struck Griffin in the roadway while turning onto State Park Road from private property, troopers said.

Griffin was taken to the hospital and later died.

Cox has ruled the manner of death was accidental. He said an autopsy would be performed on Sunday.

David: Showers and storms ongoing across the Valley

    Saturday, March 25 2017 5:50 PM EDT2017-03-25 21:50:37 GMT

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
