Before lighting off even the smallest of sparklers, you should become familiar with state laws and guidelines regarding fireworks and pyrotechnics.

Remember that in Alabama, the minimum legal age to purchase fireworks is 16.

Also be aware of ordinances within your city. For example, Florence Police say you can shoot fireworks from June 20 through July 10 in the city limits. You can shoot them from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with an exception on July 4th. You can shoot fireworks until 11 on Independence Day.

Call your local law enforcement to confirm the regulations and ordinances in your city or town.
