Cubic will continue to provide highly realistic rotational and pre-deployment training to U.S. troops. This award of the seventh option year on CAIs U.S. Armys Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) Mission Support Services contract at Fort Polk, La. increases the potential ceiling value of this contract to $896 million.

San Diego, Calif. (PRWEB) July 03, 2014

Cubic Applications, Inc. (CAI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) announced today that it has received a contract modification worth more than $60 million.

The JRTC is the U.S. Armys premier Combat Training Center, providing advanced collective training for a wide variety of units, including Brigade Combat Teams and Special Forces Operational Detachments. These units include conventional airborne, air assault, light infantry, mechanized infantry and armored units, as well as Special Operations Forces from all service components. Units training at JRTC include active-duty, reserve, and National Guard. Forces from other nations also participate in JRTC rotational training exercises.

CAI is a principal member of Cubics Mission Support Services business unit. CAI currently provides full-spectrum mission support services under this contract at Fort Polk, La., Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark., and at other locations. As Mission Support contractor, CAI assists the JRTC in fully integrating all military participants into rotational exercises via scenarios involving multinational operations. Standard rotational training exercises last 14 days and require contractor support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, since November 2003, JRTC has conducted numerous 21 day mission rehearsal exercises (MREs) for units scheduled for deployment to both Iraq and Afghanistan. These highly realistic exercises include situational training, live fire, force-on-force, and integrated Live-Virtual-Constructive training. MRE support typically includes expanded Role Play, technical help with MILES combat training instrumentation, Battlefield Effects, Video, and Cultural Role Players (Foreign Language Speakers) for added realism.

CAI has been the incumbent JRTC mission support contractor since 2001. The U.S. Army awarded CAIs current contract in July 2007 for one base year with nine renewable option years. Cubic currently employs approximately 1,500 full-time and part-time employees in support of the JRTC. The economic effect is multiplied many times in the western Louisiana region where the JRTC is located.

Cubic Applications, Inc. provides Mission Support Services, which is a major segment of Cubic Corporation, a world provider of realistic combat training systems, mission support services, and defense electronics.
