MOULTON, AL (WAFF) -

Authorities in Moulton were called to a nursing home fire Wednesday night.

It happened at the NHC Nursing Home on Hospital Street before 8:30 p.m.

Officials said when crews arrived on the scene, the fire had already been extinguished by a nursing home employee. As a precaution, the entire facility was evacuated while firefighters searched the property.

Fire officials said the source of the flames appeared to be from a short in a shower room fan.

One resident was injured during the re-entry process after the all-clear had been given. The resident was taken to the hospital for treatment.
